MagiEntertain: MOBILE ENTERTAINMENT INTERACTION BASED ON MAGNETIC FIELD
نویسنده
چکیده
For an enjoyable and fun mobile entertainment software, the user interface need to be usable, convenient, and reliable; and the input controllers needs to be natural, intuitive and provide fast feedback on user's actions. In mobile context, most of entertainment applications currently use number pad, keypad, touch screen as input interaction modalities and devices are generally used in outdoors with different noise conditions and interruptions. In addition to that, most of the games require complex interactions and high degree of collaboration between input controllers; thus, users often have difficulties on concentrating long play sessions while trying to perform multiple commands simultaneously using the touch screen. For that reason, there exist couple of mobile phone peripherals for external input to enrich the user interaction; however, they diminish the portability of these devices. In this work, we present a new technique for interaction with mobile entertainment software based on using magnetic field sensor integrated in mobile devices where a properly shaped permanent magnet is used for interaction. Our method provides a powerful interaction technique for mobile entertainment and it can be used both as a simple motion controller, as well as an intelligent gesture recognizer; therefore, enable players to input larger number of commands simultaneously, and enhance the playability and the entertainment. The proposed method is consistent with most of usability and playability heuristics defined for mobile games and other mobile entertainment applications.

The Measurement of Low Frequency Magnetic Field of Two Kinds of GSM900 Mobile Phone
Introduction: The use of mobile communication systems has dramatically increased over the past decade. Although many studies have been performed to determine the effect of radio frequency (RF) but less attention has been paid to the possible biological impact of exposure to extremely low frequency (ELF) components. The objective of this study is two folds. One is to design the ...
متن کاملANALYSIS OF SOME MAGNETIC PROPERTIES OF DILUTED MAGNETIC SEMICONDUCTORS
The susceptibility and specific heat experimental results of the diluted magnetic semiconductors (DMS) are incorporated in a model based on short-range as well as long-range interaction in a random may of magnetic ions. The so-called nearestneighbor pair approximation (NNPA) is applied. It appears that the calculated values of zero field specific heat and Curie-Weiss temperature based on th...

The theory of around device interaction (ADI) has recently gained a lot of attention in the field of human computer interaction (HCI). As an alternative to the classic data entry methods, such as keypads and touch screens interaction, ADI proposes a touchless user interface that extends beyond the peripheral area of a device. In this paper, we propose a new approach for around mobile device int...

RAMSES (Remote Archeological Mobile Support Enhanced System) is an outdoor application of mobile computing to eld archaeology, whose prototype has already been eld tested in Summer 1998 at the site of Poliochni in Greece. The requirements for both hardware and software are illustrated; the system is composed by a xed station, acting as object repository, and a few mobile units which input archa...
متن کاملCalculation of Quasi-one-dimensional Interacting Electron Gas Using the Hartree-Fock Method
In this paper, the Hartree-Fock method has been formulated to investigate some of the ground state properties of quasi-one-dimensional interacting electron gas in the presence of the magnetic field. The bare coulomb interaction between electrons has been assumed. For this system, we have also computed some of its thermodynamic and magnetic properties such as the energy, pressure, incompressibil...
